Does your child have a 'flat spot' on their head??

Plagiocephaly or “Flat Head”:

Did your doctor or child health nurse mention that your bub’s head appears flatter on one side? This is a common reason for referral to “Tots to Teens Physio”. A child’s skull is initially very soft and malleable. This allows bub to travel more easily through the birth canal. However, when does a misshapen head become more of a concern?! Below are indications your child may benefit from a consultation with a paediatric physiotherapist:

· Bub is more than 2 months of age

· Their forehead is quite prominent

· Bub has a strong preference to turning their head to one side

· Unable to or difficulty using their own muscles to turn their head

If your child fits the above presentation or you have any concerns about your child’s development contact the practice today. We can provide advice and an exercise program for bub if required. Call 0423 157 013 or email totstoteensphysio@gmail.com
